Gorilla Mist Camp is nestled on one of the hills of Ruhija region to the east of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – the prime destination of Uganda gorilla Safaris.
The region in which the Gorilla Mist Camp is positioned is home to three (3) habituated gorilla groups namely; Oruzongo, Bitukura and Kyaguliro which combine to offer the total of twenty four (24) gorilla permits per day to the travelers on gorilla trekking in Uganda.
Gorilla Mist Camp stands as a mid-range accommodation facility privately owned and run presenting accommodation in en suite cottages equipped with cozy beds and clean linen. Ruhija being a cold area, the rooms are equipped with hot water containers that generate the much needed warmth at night as always encountered on Gorilla trekking safaris and tours in Uganda. In addition, Complementary coffee and hot tea is always provided any time of the day for Uganda Safari visitors residing at this lodge.
The main lodge is spacious with a restaurant, bar and lounge where the travelers settle for meals, sundowners or even chilling itself. The one side of the main lodge overlook the impenetrable forest as it is the case for all the private decks at the respective individual cottages where the sights of birds and lush flora catch the eye of even the seasoned traveler.
At only 5 minutes drive to the gorilla tracking assembly point, Gorilla Mist Camp presents a perfect base from which the Mountain Gorillas in the Ruhija region can be explored. The staff is very friendly and welcoming all the time thus making the place a home in the jungle. The lodge can as well be used for gorilla trekking in Buhoma sector 58km about 1 hours’ drive – the home to the three gorilla groups of Habinyanja, Rushegura and Mubare and the pioneer region of gorilla safari tours in Uganda.
