This short safari is one of the popular gorilla trekking safaris taking you to the gorilla home of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be received by your Rwanda safari driver guide. You are driven through Kigali City and if its early arrival, you take time to visit the Gisozi Genocide memorial center. Here you learn about the history of Rwanda especially the 1994 genocide. After this Kigali city tour you have lunch and then be driven to Volcanoes National Park 116km about 3 hours’ drive passing through impressive countryside landscapes of Rwanda with rolling hills before arriving in Ruhengeri for relaxation, dinner and overnight at an accommodation facility close to the park.

After breakfast, start your Rwanda gorilla tracking safari by driving to the headquarters for briefing by park officials at 8am and after enter into the jungle to search for the shy mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Requirements like firm walking shoes, hut, insect repellent, sun screen, rain gears, packed lunch and bottled water are a must plus other tools that one may need once in the tropical rain forest. After early morning breakfast, you are driven to a specific gorilla trekking sector for briefing from the park rangers which starts at 8;00am and lasts about 30 minutes.
