Detailed itinerary for your 4 days Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park and do an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo with an en route at the equator
Early in the morning, after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will be picked up by your Uganda safari guide from your hotel at 6am, give you a briefing about your 4 days Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari to Bwindi and Lake Mburo National Park. Embark on your journey to Lake Mburo National park situated along the Masaka-Mbarara road about 235km from Kampala driving for about four and a half hours. You will break your journey by making a stop over at the Equator where you will have a chance to take picture a picture with your two legs in different hemispheres, have a polar water experiment as well as visit the souvenir shops filled with lots of craft making. Retreat from your break and continue to the park for your lunch and then proceed for your boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will see lots of hippos, crocodiles as well as birds including the African wattled lapwing, Black-bellied bustard, Saddle-billed stork
and many more. After your boat cruise, you transfer to your lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Do a game drive in Lake Mburo National Park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early and do a morning game drive in the park for about 3 to 4 hours. You will see animals such as Impalas that are only found in this park, elands, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes and many more. Later, after your morning game drive, return to the lodge for your breakfast, refresh and after which drive to the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. In the evening you will arrive in the park for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Do gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Following an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters with your guide at around 7am to catch the briefing at 8am. You will be briefed about the do’s and the don’ts of the gorilla trekking activity and after the park ranger will lead you to the forest to trek the gorillas. The Uganda gorilla trekking safari activity takes about 2 to 8 hours. After finally coming face to face with these gorillas, you will be restricted to 1 hour with them. You will have a memorable experience as you watch and take photos of them feeding, playing and caring for each other. This is one of the unforgettable Uganda wildlife safari encounters.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
After your breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked by your guide at around 8am so that you start your journey back to Kampala with an en route at Igongo hotel for your lunch. After you will continue with your journey to Kampala at your hotel or at the airport.
